Galaxiad: Timeline from 1300 to 1900.
After the New Era, there is a gap of 600 years. Here are some things I and others have mused on that indicate what's going on during that gap.
The Collapse
1301. The beginning of bad times. Regina is reduced in status to a "Strong World", and the Spinward Marches loses any cohesion it had.
The Regency is officially declared “dead” (if indeed anything of it still remains at this point).
1310. The Wave hits the central Imperial sectors, dissolving civilization as it goes.
1400. Regina reaches an apex of TL16, then begins a slow decline (for several complicated reasons).
The term "Virus" has disappeared from our vocabulary. “Rogue AI” is the blanket term applied to any self-aware intelligent computer system that has somehow gone bad.
1410. The Wave hits Terra.
1430. The Wave exits the rimward border of Charted Space.
1450. Regina’s drops to TL 14.
1450: The Inflection
By 1450, old regimes are purged, and many timelines "inflect" with the OTU. This is not necessarily a re-joining of timelines, but rather more like where they all cross the same point.
The Foreven War
1500. Regina drops to TL 13.
1508. The Foreven War.
This did not actually involve Foreven Sector. Rather it was against aggressors coming from spinward that threatened Regina subsector. Ultimately it was one of the factors that prompted the strong worlds around Regina to band together and eventually form the Republic.
1540. Regina reaches a nadir of TL 12.
The Republic of Regina
1648. The Formation of the Republic of Regina
1660. Regina reaches TL 14.
1750. Regina reaches TL 15.
The False Spring
1780. The beginning of the False Spring in the Spinward Marches.
The False Spring is the term for a number of generalized events in 1780-1840 which included some mild economic benefits for the Wilds. This prosperity resulted in vigorous exploitation by Wild Traders and Strong World.
1850. Regina re-achieves TL 16.
The Galaxiad
1902. Regina reaches TL 17.
“I want a spiky desert where Regina reached temporary highs and fell back under the load of population pressures and cultural ennui.
Regina’s status as a Rich World vanished for a century or two, and then was recaptured by massive efforts.” [MWM 2012]
